A special thanks to everyone that welcomed and encouraged us as we brought Foundation flyers by your schools today! It was such a pleasure to meet so many that Mrs. Honeycutt personally touched. It only solidified our commitment in doing our part to help those of you that help so many on a daily basis! Thank you for everything that you do and your continued support of our cause and please don’t hesitate to c
Due to the tremendous support and fun had at last year’s Relay for Life, we will be participating again this year in Vickie’s honor at Jay M. Robinson High School on May 14th.
In order to help raise awareness for the Foundation we are asking for your help. Instead of making a direct donation to the Relay for Life site, please consider making your donation to the Vickie S. Honeycutt Foundation as we continue to grow and try to help others. However, being that the Relay is such a fantastic cause we want to offer them our support as well. So for EVERY donation made through the Foundation site between now and May 1st we will MATCH your donation with a lump sum donation to the Relay for Life on May 2nd. Such a great way to support both causes!
Please go to our Donation page here to place your donation.
Also, we had a great time last year and would love to have more smiling faces there with us throughout the day. So please consider going to our Relay page here (http://main NULL.acsevents NULL.org/site/TR?pg=team&fr_id=33413&team_id=926403) and Joining our Team. Hope to see you there!
It is with such pride that we can announce the first family we were able to help! Our first donation went to a very deserving family in Charlotte, NC. Please read about little Liam Fudge, such an inspiration. It is only with your support that we were able to make this happen so thank you so much and please help us continue to spread the word so we can expand those we touch even more!

Our 501(c)(3) status has been approved (some good news from the IRS around tax time)! What does that mean for you? All donations are tax deductible to the extent of the law. The Vickie S. Honeycutt Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit charity organization. If you have questions please contact your tax consultant but make sure to keep your receipts.
First of all, we are overwhelmed by the response the foundation received so far. The t-shirts have been selling like crazy and we have had tons of people contacting us, willing to help. Thanks for everything you’ve done so far. We’re are just days away from getting the PayPal donation process underway, so be on the lookout for that!
In late October, Vickie was honored by the the Concord-Cabarrus Business and Professional Women’s Club. She was named “Woman of the Year,” and was the first ever to be honored posthumously. You can read more about the ceremony and other women that were honored here (http://www2 NULL.independenttribune NULL.com/news/2010/oct/22/professional-womens-club-honors-two-cabarrus-ar-473594/).
There was also a great article, written by Ben McNeely, that appeared in Concord’s Independent Tribune. The article talks about Vickie, the Foundation and how the Avett Brothers have helped give the foundation a nice kick-start. Thank you all, again, for your support.
For the month of October, The Avett Brothers (http://www NULL.theavettbrothers NULL.com/us/events) have been kind enough to create a new t-shirt, especially for the Vickie S. Honeycutt Foundation. All proceeds will go towards the charity and the shirts can be purchased at any Avett Brothers show during the entire month of October. Here are a list of tour dates – if they’re coming to a city near you, make sure to stop by the merchandise table for a good cause!
*Shirts also available in gray, and can be purchased online by clicking here (http://theavettbrothers NULL.kungfustore NULL.com/)*
